Agents: Titans to sign WR Calvin Ridley to 4-year, $92M deal

According to reports, the Tennessee Titans used NFL free agency to obtain another offensive weapon. According to numerous reports on Wednesday, wide receiver Calvin Ridley is joining the rival Titans of the AFC South on a multi-year contract, departing from the Jacksonville Jaguars. Calvin Ridley is expected to agree to a $92 million, four-year contract that includes a full guarantee of $50 million.

According to pay data from Spotrac, the agreement will place Calvin Ridley as the ninth-highest paid wide receiver based on average annual value ($23 million). Derrick Henry left the team to join the Baltimore Ravens, while Tennessee has added running back Tony Pollard from the Dallas Cowboys in free agency to take his place as the team’s primary back. Entering his second pro season, quarterback Will Levis of Tennessee now has a No. 1 receiver.

The 29-year-old Calvin Ridley just finished his second 1,000-yard campaign in his five-year career. In 17 games in 2023, the former first-round pick hauled in 76 receptions for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns. Due to his NFL suspension for game-betting, Calvin Ridley was unable to play in any games during the 2022 season. During the 2022 season, the Atlanta Falcons traded Ridley to the Jaguars in return for a third- and fifth-round pick.

Following a single season in Jacksonville, Ridley will join a group of pass-catchers for the Titans. That includes tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo. Former first-round selection DeAndre Hopkins, and wide receiver Deylon Burks. A three-time All-Pro. After  Ridley was signed by the Titans. Mike Williams and Marquise Brown were among the best wide receivers available on the free-agent market.
