Chimaev vs. Whittaker tops UFC Saudi Arabia card June 22


On June 22, the main event of the first-ever UFC  program in Saudi Arabia will feature a middle-weight contender match between Khamzat Chimaev and Robert Whittaker. On Wednesday night, UFC CEO Dana White revealed the main event and the four more bouts scheduled for UFC Saudi Arabia. In the US, ABC will broadcast the event. Aside from Chimaev vs. Whittaker, the co-main event at heavyweight features Sergei Pavlovich making his comeback against Alexander Volkov.

In other welter-weight bouts,

Kelvin Gastelum takes on Daniel Rodriguez and Johnny Walker makes a comeback against Volkan Oezdemir. Saudi Arabia’s last confirmed battle is a light heavyweight bout between Ihor Potieria and Sharabutdin Magomedov, also known as Shara Bullet.  The Ufc  and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are launching a new alliance at the event. Expanding the promotion’s sphere of influence in the Middle East after a long-standing arrangement with Abu Dhabi.

Chimaev makes his debut in the main event after narrowly defeating Kamaru Usman. The former welterweight champion, in a back-and-forth bout in October. Chimaev continues to hold a perfect 13-0 record, which includes seven straight Ufc   victories. Whittaker, a former middle-weight champion who is coming off a commanding victory over Paulo Costa in his most recent contest. Will present him with his hardest test to date. In the upcoming weeks, more bouts for Ufc  Saudi Arabia are anticipated to be confirmed.
