Beyoncé & Miley Cyrus’ Duet “II Most Wanted” Is A True Ride-Or-Die Anthem

Miley Cyrus

Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus collaborated on a song that explores a traditional American subject: automobiles and road trips. Together, the two vocalists create a new song off Beyoncé’s eagerly awaited album “Cowboy Carter.” “II Most Wanted” is a track that meanders down the 405, with smoke and hands floating in the breeze. As they head into the future together, Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus  are outlaws riding shotgun and in the backseat:

  •  Using my empty hand to create waves in the wind
  •  My other hand is upon you
  •  It’s been a while since I attempted to distance myself.
  • But a change of scenery is needed.

Naturally, Miley Cyrus has achieved success as a crossover performer in the pop and country music genres. She became the youngest Disney Legend this year, making history. Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance were Miley Cyrus first Grammy awards. Which she won in February for her breakthrough song “Flowers.”

When Miley Cyrus was a teenager, in 2008,

she performed with Beyoncé and Rihanna for the Stand Up to Cancer campaign. Miley Cyrus thought back on that experience last year. “I found myself in between a couple of the great icons and heroes that I had looked toward at that point, and they welcomed me like a younger sister the entire time,” Miley Cyrus remarked during her “Used to Be Young” TikTok series. She went on, “They were acting kind.”

On February 11, Beyoncé debuted her eighth studio album with a surprise Super Bowl commercial. Her first two singles, “16 Carriages” and “Texas Hold ‘Em,” were released simultaneously. The two songs swiftly became viral on the internet because a lot of listeners perceived them as a return to the Black heritage of country music. In just two days, Beyoncé’s YouTube videos received over 2 million views for each song. After “Texas Hold ‘Em” peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart in a matter of weeks. Beyoncé became the first Black woman to achieve this feat. “Act II” of a three-part series is the new album. The “Renaissance” album, which marked the superstar’s debut, was released on July 29, 2022, by Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records.

The title of “Act III” is not yet known.

On Instagram, the singer discussed “Cowboy Carter” before it was released. Despite being “honored” to be the first Black woman to top the Hot Country Songs chart on Billboard. Beyoncé expressed her hope that one day “the mention of an artist’s race, as it relates to releasing genres of music, will be irrelevant.”

She stated that it took her five years to complete the new album. Because adding that it was “born out of an experience where I did not feel welcomed years ago.” and I wasn’t, that much was certain.” The actress was probably alluding to her 2016 Country Music Association Awards performance of her song “Daddy Lessons” with The Chicks, which elicited conflicting responses on social media.

“But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive,” she explained. “I was compelled to overcome the constraints placed on me by the criticisms I encountered when I initially entered this genre. To develop this body of work, act II is the outcome of my self-challenge and my deliberate processing of several genres.” It’s not a Country record, she concluded. This album features “Beyoncé.”
