When the legendary wrestler forced Matthew Jackson to tap out to the Scorpion Deathlock in a picture finish, the pay-per-view main event came to a conclusion. But Sting and Allin’s triumph came after much suffering for both of them as the legendary wrestler, who was retiring, was suplexed off the stage and through a table, pushed through another table in the ring, and thrown through a glass pane.
Allin’s attempt at a moonsault off the ladder was unsuccessful, resulting in a broken back and extensive bleeding when he smashed through a glass pane. But no matter how much abuse The Young Bucks gave him, Sting never gave up. His late comeback and explosive opening sequence, in which he showered them with Stinger Splashes, helped elevate his team to victory on an unforgettable night that also saw the participation of Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat. As he bid farewell to the audience and his career, Sting thanked them and they responded by roaring “You still got it!” at the legend.
